MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Do you love movies, streaming media, and US pop culture? Do you have experience in social media localization?
We are looking for a linguist to be a part of our Korean language team for a long-term English into Traditional Chinese creative localization project in the media sector. They will take ownership of the incoming work on this account and will actively contribute to the success of the program.
The client is an American provider of on-demand Internet streaming media services. The position is a remote one and you can work from anywhere in the world.
MAIN DUTIES
Translate content from English into Traditional Chinese with original meaning conveyed in a manner that is readable and understandable to the target audience.
Content types: PR, marketing material, UI, synopses, character names, titles,
CAT Tool: working with client proprietary tool, we will provide training and credentials.
Familiar with US pop culture and the entertainment industry in Taiwan.
Expected monthly capacity: 10 hours/week
REQUIRED SKILLS
Minimum 3 years experience translating and reviewing content in the specified subject matter.
Proficient in all areas of expertise: marketing, UI, website localization, PR, metadata, etc.
Well-versed in various translation & terminology tools.
Excellent communications skills in English (spoken and written).
Native fluency in the target language.
Degree in linguistics, translation, or equivalent experience.
Able to follow instructions, eg. character restrictions, etc.
Able to communicate effectively the rationale behind their translation skills.
Able to both translate and review.
Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario is a plus.
